 Gurmit came around weekly selling vegetables and fruit to the compound staff.
He became my first Hindi friend, offering to teach me Hindi and I helped him with his English. He would around Saturdays to watch the movie.
I could always find time for him. Showed him his first jig-saw puzzle.
He was a Sikh, hence the turban, but as soon as he got to NZ he ditched it and went western dress. Very brief audio (4Mb). | |
