| 1959 | Angeline, Chris and I played Monopoly®. Played catch with Sandeen and Kincy. Little League (Phelps) practice at Jr High where I cracked a bat. Mr. Bock corrected my errors and the next good pitch I hit a ball that he said would have been a homer. He gave the team a pop treat and ride home. Billy and Angi made their maps. | ||
| 1960 | Newspaper - typed up page 2 copies. Gary and I went to Luxury Lanes and I got 95 to his 135. Kincy showed up just as we were leaving. Got a new all-time low at golf with a 33. Went to Christian and watched VFW-Legion Babe Ruth game. | ||
| 1961 | High = 76°F. Kincy and I rode to the game. We beat Woodlake 10 - 4. Lyle started, Cha relieved and I did the last 2/3 inning striking out 1. Played 1st and 3rd going 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs - I now have the highest average at .444. White, Kincy and I went to watch the Legion - Malmberg game. Had a barbeque and ate out. | ||
| 1963 | Bill came over for roulette and Home Run Derby. Dad started his vacation today. Chris beat me in whiffle ball. At 10PM Kathy, Janet, Jane and I had a popcorn party. | ||

| 1968 | We (Honeywell Records) played Holy Trinity in softball and lost it in the last inning. I played first and got a hit. Darrell and I started our cribbage match to 10,000 points. | ||
| 1970 | Going over the tests with the boys is impossible. They aren't interested inlearning from it. I walked out of two classes and had 5B put their heads on their desks for twenty minutes. | ||
| 1971 | 4B, always very late to arrive, began electricity today. I collected a pail of rocks to welcome Ghetto's boyfriends. Rehearsal, had to get Dick an hour later. We got all of Act I done with Pam doing Rainbow. | ||
| 1972 | Up at 8AM, shaved twice. Murph brought me and Bob to the Catholic Church at Natovi where we set up the cassette recorder (listen [6mb]). Ceremony started at 10:15AM with Father Bridgewater in charge. Epeli gave Gail away. The local church choir sang during the service. After the service (11ish) we stood outside for photos and everyone proceded past to congratulate us. Prefects, had walked from school and arrived too late for the ceremony. Epeli drove to his place for sherry. Reception at Murphy's - more photos, chow, a lovely cake (from Pam Kacimaiwai) and champagne toasts. Haniff (Indian taxi driver from Korovo) brought us to the Rakiraki Hotel. I slept most of the way. Arrrived there around 5:30PM. We had to turn the air conditioner off as we weren't used to coolness. Had sandwiches brought up to room for a late supper. |  | |
| 1973 | Taped Top 40 Disappearing acts. Painted Teresa's bike. Had sherry, Riesling with supper, then Drambuie and Harvey Wallbangers while we tried to play pool. | ||
| 1974 | 5ths started matrices. Magnets in Science. Staff meeting after school: Mike Edwards gave a very loud talk on the forms of Behaviour Deviation. For our anniversary meal we had our first Velluto Rosso and fell in love with it. |  from Gail |

| 1975 | Letter to Kacimaiwais. David running a high fever. Gail brought him to doctor who prescribed penicillan. Put screens onto upper floor windows with use of Stan's extension ladder. Built a book case for den. Polished car chrome. | ||
| 1976 | Mr Alvis came to get Dianne O'Connor because Michelle Fenton was in tears. I had split them up earlier in the week. 3U had a division contest which Pythagoreans won. 6ths did permutations and combinations. 4C had "Five in a Row" contest. Jr Basketball: 3U girls won, boys lost. Nigel Mason turned in his uniform. Real basketball: We beat Merkins 43 - 19. I got 4 points. We had good passing going. | 1977 | Took 5G for science. 4H had a contest on brackets. Down with a cold and didn't feel like celebrating. Letter to Hoffsis. | ||
| 1979 | Su - Down to High = 1°C. Gail had a fire going when I got up. Finished reading Smith of Wooton Major Taped AT 40 Disco songs. Put Roar Power gizmo onto Te's trike. Figured out how to use the new car's jack. Removed roof and doors off of the kids' garage, tunred it around to make it larger and able to hold the new trike. Had a claret with Gail to celebrate our anniversary. | ||
| 1980 | T - Gail worked 8AM - 1PM. Anniversary card from Angi. She sent David a birthday card and $1.40 in coins. Mom got a funny letter from Trish. After the kids were in bed Gail and I had a an excellent Almaden '75 Petite Sirah. Gave her a bottle of Vandermint. Watched Nationals beat Americans in the All-Star game. We put out David's gifts and Gail made a Snoopy cake. |  ex mom |

| 1981 | W - Skunked both Paul and Curt. Put Tim's tie onto his stuffed elephant while he was at a meeting. After supper we went to "Sidewalk Days" at Phalen where we found sandles for David, a small watering can and a couple tablecloths at JC Penney. Ran into Chuck and Inez. While we were in the shoe store someone took the coupon folder from the car (it looked like a wallet). Gail and I opened a Christian Borthers claret to celebrate our 9th. | ||
| 1982 | Th - Stayed home ill. Gail gave an 8-pack of Coke and Snickers. Letter to Beckingsale. Letter and card for David from Marge. Dad sent him a card. Went to Walgreens with Ne to get her eardrop prescription. Got a life jacket for David. Country Club to get Gail an 8-pack of TAB. Mom called and said she couldn't come. I layed down on the floor and fell asleep listening to the Twins 3 - Milwaukee 0. When I woke Mom was there. She gave David a winter coat and a pair of clinging dogs and a $10 note. The others went to David's game. Dad called and we talked for an hour. |

| 1983 | F - Went to the 8AM meeting for the first time. Bill Miers introduced himself (about the 7th time he has done so to me) so I guess he just doesn't remember me. Imagine this - I gave Mehus his first two greenies. Two and a half years ago he gave me mine! Had a piece of the anniversary cake Gail made before she left for work. Letter from Hoffsis. | 1986 | David drew up a clever Garfield card see outside see inside for our anniversary. Under heavy flu aches but went to work. Ulu stopped in a few times. Summarized Powercorp problems and that led to a call to Rayner and I spent a long time talking to him. David got a card, letter and $5 from Joyce. Gail and Ne got KFC. Sanders stopped in with a card and the lottery ticket for the syndicate. Stayed for coffee and liqueur. They gave David some Garfield things and a 25' scroll which spelt 'Happy Birthday David' out of Garfield comic strips. |

| 1987 | More Margaret Shattock training. Interviewed Norm McKay who impressed me no end, and JV said I could hire him. Aldersons for birthday party. We wore hats, cowboy, Goofy and they had masks/noses on we we arrived. Played, ate, sipped an excellent '84 Villa Maria cabsav and opened gifts. Gave James the Mickey Mouse clock and he loved it. Played pool, Biff the Bozo on the Nose and Trivial Pursuit. Gail bought me Kiwi Quiz, so we used those questions, too. Was a good time. See card from Sanders. |

| 1989 | Netball: Made the last 15 minutes of this week's slaughter. They were down 18-6 when I arrived but finished 22-12, so I got see some good play. Ne was reserve for "A" team and she went home with the Malloys to spend the night there. David stayed home with the dogs (Whites stopped in with gifts for him). Gail and I went to Rotorua for the night. Stayed at Malones. Rented a VCR machine so we could watch Cassanova and Company while the hot tub filled. An hour or so in the hot tub while sipping '87 Villa Antinori. Left lights on and office told us at 6PM. Battery dead, so we took a taxi ($5.60) to Lewisham's Austrian Restaurant. Seated way at the back by the kitchen. The meal presentation was fancy. I had shrimp in yoghurt on pawpaw and a beautifully done venison in blueberry/caper sauce. Chatted with the owner as to why there aren't any Austrian dishes!!!! He said let him know next time we are in town and he'll prepare me something. Back to motel at 10:30PM to watch a couple videos. Gail gave me a Goofy judo figurine and Goofy birdwatcher pencil and a Goofy bookmark. |

| 1990 | Letter to Mom. Suggested a change in plans so we could join her in Las Vegas. Removed a privet on back fence, weeded and turned compost. Had spare ribs and a Cecchi '86 Chianti for our special meal. Gail gave me a 3D Goofy keychain. We watched Magnificent Seven. |  |

| 1991 | On road at 10AM through fog. An hour at Hell's Gate - photo. In addition to the Southern Hemisphere's only hot waterfalls... they had Golden Peacocks. Of course, the usual steamy mud thingiesHad a look at Whakatane. Got to Gisborne via Waioeka Gorge at 5PM. Bought Hero's Quest for David's birthday ($70). Checked into Colonial Motor Lodge and had a soak in the spa. Gail and I went to L'Escalier (upstairs with an old home feel) for a Neptune platter which included 1/2 crayfish (had to ask for melted butter). Lovely Chenin Blanc from Esk Valley and a clear, easy to drink DeLaforce Port. |

| 1992 | Gail brought Ne back from Phillipa's. Hunters Corner for shopping and a Viennese coffee. Letter, card and photo from Shirley. Trish brought over a card that was more like a book, filled with photos and witty things. Gave me Utterly Trivial Knowledge: The Music Game and a Chinese cookbook for Gail. Had supper at Sizzler's in Manaukau and had breaded shrimp for the first time in NZ. David got Terminator 2 for us to watch. Finished reading Power That Preserves. |  Shirley's |

| 1993 | Gail had a Goofy soccer towel for me, but since I already have one she returned it. I gave her Spanish paprika and a splatter cover. Played cribbage outside in the sun and went for a walk. David had a computer exam at uni. Ian borrowed van to move Steve's furniture. Went to Aldies at 5:30PM for a lovely meal with a Nobilo Muller Thurgau. Gifts: Daffy cup and disks for David. Wine and books for me and Gail. We gave James a crystal radio kit. David gave him a quest game that he had programmed. |

| 1994 | F - Went to Hunter's corner where Te found a sweater and two sweatshirts. We met Saki, Linda and 3 week old Rebecca. Over to Briscoe's to get a broom. Man saw me carrying it and thought I was staff. MCC to get work shoes for Te. I was zonked by the perfume. Home at 3PM for coffee and cribbage. Gave Gail a pink paua shell necklace. Brought Bev to Bert's for TP. | ||
| 1995 | Completed The Life and Times of David (through 1976). Michael Cullen first to come, with his computer which they hooked up to Ian's. He, and others, gave David "Magic" cards. Whites were next: flannel shirt, Fruity Bix, plastic elephant 3D-puzzle, Jimi Hendrix tape and a computer game. The game had a faulty disc. When Matthew went to return it he was picked up by security because it wasn't in a bag and he didn't have the receipt. We gave David our gifts. From Ne: 3 Jimi tapes and 2 turtlenecks. His folks: briefcase, radio, Jimi tape and Fruity Bix. Cards and letters from Dad, Marge and Joyce. Ben Taylor stopped in for about an hour. Got up a bridge game until Betty came for cake and tea. Sanders brought a 21st key that Mike had made and everyone signed it. We played "Trivial David". Kids got up a MonopolyŽ game. Sanders left and Clarks arrived. I limbo-ed with the boys and then repaired the floppy drive. Cribbage. Let Gail chop off all of my lovely locks - now I can't go out in public. |

| 2002 | email to David, one from Marge so I sent back a reply. Final cribbage game (ignore what I said yesterday) and Gail beat me 118 -123. Brought her to the shuttle, entertained by a 4 yr old girl as we waited about 20 minutes. Spent a long time in Hastings at the used CDs - but didn't find anything. Over to KMart to pick up a cheap radio that records cassettes - so I can get songs off the Oldies Radio station. Home - card from Inez. Chatted with Shranko - back from Vegas. Picked up a Fruit Loops cereal with a Goofy CD inside. BLT for supper. Call saying that house will be viewed tomorrow, so I cleaned the fireplace and finished gluing on the baseboards. |  | |
| 2003 | Up for coffee and send an email off to Bobby. Gail gave me a couple Goofy dolls and I gave her the Meatloaf "Hits Out of Hell" DVD. Stayed in bed and listened to the Twins 6 - Chicago 5 winning on Jones' homer in 11th. Up to lose to Gail at cribbage and back to bed until supper. Ne got us a plastic parrot. Ian and Su over for bridge. Ian had great hands and at one stage Su bid "5 7". Someone couriered a mystery package of meat addressed to "Big Nose", so Ian ate it. email from Angi who has too many men wanting to date her - poor thing. |

| 2004 | We drove to Whiritoa where we walked along the lagoon and didn't feel like crossing it to get to next bay. From there we followed the winding road to Waihi and walked that small downtown and Gail found a beanie for $2. Back to rest until it was dress up time and over to Oceana's for personal service from owner/chef, Gary. We shared a seafood platter and a Tatachilla 2003 Merlot. I also tried a Mac's ginger beer that I found too sweet and too much like L&P. And I was disappointed when the date dessert turned out to be a date cake. Took Gail in a couple games of cribbage and in Scrabble. |

| 2005 | email to Atmore. Brought DVD/VCR into Tisco in Papakura. The old lady there took everything out of the box so she could get the SN, even though I had the info on the warranty card. Home to bring recycles in, then clean the house until Gail got home from last day of term II. I got a knobs win at cribbage. Waiuku takeaways rated 'E' so Gail and Ne went to Pukekohe to get McD's. Ian stopped in for a visit and came back for TP with Ann, Russell and Mike. Ne gave us a shock on the pen she got for David. I filled the display table with plush Goofys. |  | |

Gail went to lunch with Kathy and picked up our Quota raffle basket which contained 26 items (jams, capers, caviar, chutneys, dressings, soup, sauces, coffee, wine, date bars and candy). Meanwhile I was at Person's going through a list a problems. Won cribbage game. Had a '06 Pinot Noir with our anniversary meal. Listened to the Twins 4 - Indians 3. |  | |
| 2009 | W - email from Steve N. Sent one to Kjell. Card from Gail. Brought her to see Dr Alani about blisters on her face. Put up a couple walls in the guest room closet crawlspace. Lost cribbage game. Had a lovely Stoneleigh '06 Merlot to go with dessert and TV. |  | |
