| 1960 | Watched Yankees beat Pirates 10 - 0 in World Series game. Gary came over and we played whiffle ball and football with Jerry, then played "annie, annie over" with Billy. | |
| 1961 | High = 71°F. Rode bike to 8AM Mass. Kincy came over and we played rummy while watching New York 7 - Cinncinati 0. He told that Signe still likes me but is mad that I took Debbie to the Homecoming game. We played football with his father and Billy. Kincy, Terri and Sig were begging me to go along on a duck hunting trip with Daniels, but I turned them down so I could study. Bill, Chris and I played football. Labiak called about geometry. Bought a homecoming button. |  |
| 1963 | Get my class ring (blue stone) [ed. - Mom said that if I made A honor roll for the year she'd pay - I did, she did]. I checked out Kelley's (only one to not buy a ring) new house and went riding around with him. | |

| 1970 | Today we gave out Independence medals and I was wearing 5, getting me lots of salutes. Showed 3B the force pump and got Jonasa real good when I sprayed the room. After class we set up a trap for Eliki. Breeze set off a volcano that his 6th form had made. Woody and I made stands for the drums using physics lab equipment and cymbals from breakfast crackers tins. Then we practiced until White came for whist and we a meal around 11PM. David passed out around 11:30PM. |  |
| 1971 | Into Suva with Daya. Heavy rain. I went to the Post Office and waited an hour there for the rain to clear. MH's then walked to the market hoping to get a cab, but no luck so I walked to the Suva Yacht Club. Breeze's showed up around 5:15PM. Helped them dock in the rain and then Fran made us a meal on board and finally we (including Phil) sleep on the boat. |  SYC |
| 1972 | Murphy came by for a visit. I cleaned up after last night's party. Whites for cards. Susi and I won (made a redoubled bid). We left when McIntyre's came. | |
| 1974 | Maths4f - split it up: superdummies to Mrs Jurgeliet, dummies on Equations and Francis/Anna on extension topics. Science - watched movie on food, then we tested foods for water and CO2 content. Bridge at lunch. Got a bookcase for my room and put it next to door. | 1975 | Letter to Hoffsis. Mailed box 14 of paperback books. Letter from Mary Benson. Finished painting south wall and began on kitchen. David stuck a key into a powerpoint and survived. He can now walk down the stairs with out help. | |
| 1976 | Mr Jenvey brought his daughter, me and Robert to East Tamaki shopping center where we took over from Basil and his two boys. Set up in front of Post Office and sold 50 mystery envelopes in first hour and then things died down. Walked with Robert to factories and set him up outside a tavern. We sold 234 (at 50¢). Mr Van Dam brought us back. Peter Wilkins and Rick arrived at 7PM (on their way to Fiji). We ate and we looked at Fiji slides until midnight. I stayed up with Te until 2AM watching Split Enz on Grunt Machine. Letter play list and a tape of a sound check of a British station from Paul Mitchell. | |
| 1977 | Sa - Got Aldersons' mower and while Gail mowed the front lawn I turned compost. After I did the back yard I returned the mower and helped Doug shift dirt. He gave us some potatoes. Cleaned garage adn painted the arbor. | |

| 1979 | M - Dunlop gave David and me rides to our schools. Told the principal that I won't be working next year and request a leave. Chris Beale volunteered to take over Croft's timetable. Letter from Hoffsis. | |
| 1980 | W - COBOL quiz (24/25). First run had 3 errors which I fixed and then it was successful. Skunked Paul at lunch. Looked at JCL card in afternoon. While walking for cans (5) David and I saw two hot air balloons. McDonald's for supper. | |
| 1981 | Th - Set up a test for EDITS using a version of the production database. After 6 JCL errors [ed. - always my weak spot] we got it going only to discover that I had left the test versions out of LINK EDITOR, so we had to cancel and get Pokorny to restore the database. Tom and I passed a LaBelles catalog around and asked for suggestions for a gift for Bob McGonigal. Letter from Kathy. Patched leaky gutter over deck. Anti-freeze into car. Put blades onto lawn mower. Headache at bed - up until 2:30AM. |  |
| 1982 | F - Now that Ne has a bike we all rode over to Armstrong and pedalled around the grounds. Had a nap when we got home. David read a book to me. Letter to Aldies. | |
| 1983 | Sa - Letter (pg 1 pg 2) to Aldies. Gail and Ne went to see Return of the Jedi with Bluebirds. Ne won a prize of candy and came home with poster, bookcovers and a balloon. David and I raked leaves. Took air conditioner down. Gail worked 5PM-closing. |  |

| 1985 | Work - took notes as Julie taught Marie how to use XT. Peter North showed up in afternoon for a "howdy" and ended up taking my PC, leaving me, the guy in charge of computers, without one. |  |
| 1988 | Aldersons for an evening of slides with an excellent Penfolds white out of a Country cask. David sold $20 worth of Brass Band lottery tickets to Trish and was he surprized. | |
| 1989 | DLS begins. Letter to Atmore. Gail went to a hui (Maori meeting) at Kelvin Road School. David went to play computer games in town. Trish and boys stopped inwith chips, so I made tea and gave her a map of CHCH. Apparently Doug panicked when he viewed the root canal video that I jazzed up. | |

| 1991 | Felt lousy all day. Weeded the lawn (well rock area). Blu-Blockers came today. Vacuumed car and cleaned garage. Brought Joyce to doctor. Fish for supper. Tremendous headache while I watched the Twins 5 - Toronto 4 in playoffs. | |
| 1993 | Brought Ne's surfboard, cocoon and paintings to school for the exhibition. Steve Graham dropped in for a visit. He is making presentations of his life insurance software. He is turning into a "little business man". Whites went to the art display with us. Ne has sold a piece for $20. Adults went to Valentine's for our anniversary meal. We had "Fritz" again. He is from Yugoslavia and has been here for seven years. Food was lousy. But I had a great Freddie Fudpucker. Once home we looked at slides with an excellent TeMata '92 dry white. |  |
| 1994 | Jason over to shoot buckets with Ne. Gail and I brought Pam and Ann to Alfriston hall where we joined Paul, Mike and Irene, plus two young couples. Too many for one team and we didn't do well. I won a pot plant for a door prize. We bought ourselves into first place along with every other team and began second half. We were still in first going into last lap which was Current Events and we bombed out. |  |

Chris called and I spoke to Mom - her house badly damaged by a fire yesterday. They are staying at Estelle's across the road. Paid electric bill and hit New World. Cribbage. Picked up Ne and dogs at Whites. Called Peter H (he is upset about the attack on Afghanistan). email from Sandy B. |  |
| 2002 | Went for a long walk with dad in the chilly weather. email from Shranko who was laidoff after 3 weeks at the mall. Ne and I went bumming. Picked up some gifts and corduroy pants at Target. Then we explored Kohls and Joanne's (handicraft). Ne made spaghetti for supper and then did a major cleanup of her bedroom and the lower bathroom. I did an even longer walk with Lavonne (her diabetes is way up) and then settled in to watch the Twins win the first game of League Champs 2 - 1 over Angels. | |
| 2003 | Finished a Malley-Gram. Vacuumed pool and weeded all day long until Gail got home. Transplanted a passionfruit vine. Did some pruning in Brundell Bush. Trish called to tell us that Doug had taken his life. Ne extremely upset as she knows what he was going through with his anxiety problems. | |
| 2004 | Up at 8:20AM. Key ring missing so I zipped into Mitre 10 to take a couple to try, but didn't work. By then Ne was up and let me in so I could get coffee!!!! Picked up Trish with her ugly lime green suitcase and David and then James in Papakura and brought them to airport (flying down to Timaru). She gave us a lovely note on this 1st anniversary of Doug's demise. Then Bunnings to get trim for my room. PAG for a couple hours with Eloise, then McKenzie's to rid the computer of its bad guys. Home to win the cribbage game 125-106 and then sleep until time to get up to go to Paul's for TP with Gail and Ian. Jackie has a job as a receptionist at an architect's office. |  |

Listened to the Twins become Central Division Champions by defeating the Tigers in a marathon 12 inning game. Yep, its Homer Hanky time. Turned a section of the veggie garden and vacuumed the pool. Won cribbage game when Gail got back from a day with Emery. |  |
| 2010 | F - email to Bev and a note to Trish. Into PO, where Gillian helped me set up accounts. Home to pick up branches, weed veggies, shock dose the pool and mow side lawn and front paddock. Ngwhai told Gail that the family who received our furniture actually applauded the long mirrored unit. Won cribbage game. email from Lesser. Mowed west paddock. | |
| 2011 | Sa - Mike Hickford passed away this morning. Letter to Angi. Read Stone's chapter on Baine. Lost cribbage game. Steph over for a meal and we exchanged gifts. She gave us items she bought at an "American" store near Mt Wellington. We looked at her photos this year's stay in France. She and Ne had a lot to talk about their common housing unit. |  |
