Thanksgiving Day Play as Performed
Bette Thomas dressed as a cook comes out and says "For the past month the staff has been dishing it out to us; now we are going to FEED it BACK to you".

Then Terry, complete with pillow, says to me, with my week old beard and sunken eyes, 'Well, Moody, how are things in Ookala?". Me: "I've been wondering...is there an Ookala?". Terry: "Sounds like a critical incident…have you talked it over with..." David Blado comes out of the corner and says: "Nobody ever talks to me."

Then we walk off and the students are laying on the floor. Lee wakes up and rings a bell. Cook comes in with a sign "6:00". Running around

Bell, sign "6:30 Language Class".
Class sitting around saying "Where's Jas?". Sweeney carries TomVL in who is drunk and a mess. Tom rips off the top of a beer and guzzles it down, takes a cigarette away from Sweeny saying "No smoking in class" and then smokes it himself and puts his arm around girl.

Bell, sign "Breakfast"
Students get food from cook and eat.

Bell,sign "8:00 Language Class". Ken comes in and starts pounding on the wall and swearing in Fijian.

Bell, sign "9:00 5 minute break". Bell, sign "9:23 end of 5 minute break".
Class. Ann comes in with a bag of tricks and does the "E ka hai?" routine screeching in a high voice. Mike M. comes in as Walosi, jumps on a chair cause-he sees a dead centipede.

Bell, sign "10AM, where's the staff?"
Lance comes in all messed up, stupid grin. Mike Coyle runs in pipe in hand. Bell, sign "10:10 technical training classes".
Lance, as Paul: "Today we are going to have a special guest who is a little down in the mouth". Enter Peter with bag on head, shaking fiercely. Bob Bailey puts sign on bag: "Culture Shock". Peter takes bag off and tries to light cigarettes. Mike Coyle asks him: "From your experiences in FIJI can you tell me why is America rich?". Peter says 'No' while shaking his head yes. Mike Gawel comes on: "Can any of you haoles tell me where the vale lailai is?" One of the students says "that's a strange habitat". Paul says "well, there are good habitats and there are bad habitats".

Bell, sign "11AM break". Bell, sign "11:18 end of 5 minute break".
Gene Bratt comes on with a camera, guitar and starts throwing handouts all over: " The results of a timex watch attached to a U-boat during WWII, very important to Fiji. Now class, we are going to start practice-teaching at Lapahoehoe its very important to Fiji". Sweeney: "I don't want to go". Bratt: "Right, its not Important, the important thing is to be flexible. I'm flexible" and does the Freddie. Sweeney: "I changed my mind, it is very Important".

Bell, sign " 12:15 Lunch".
A line forms and as students are getting food from cook Mark comes in wearing a trenchcoat. Opens it up and says to the person in front of him as he shows a grapefruiit "Wanna buy a duck".

Bell,sign "lPM meeting".
Vicki comes in: "Now I've called this meeting to discuss the meeting we are having. The staff had a meeting to discuss the number of meetings. And I would like you to get together in your D-groups and discuss meetings and we will have a meeting tonight to discuss meetings" David comes through carrying radishes: "talk to me, say something, anything".

Bell, sign "2PM Language class".
Jim Hoffsis comes in with a bandaid on his chest: "Namastae class. Today we are going to learn a song...'Hindi Mater'. Repeat after me, 'Hindi'. Class says it and Jim pinches a girl's cheek: "Bahut acha", 'Hindi Mater'...'Bahut achi' pinches girl...'Hindi Mater ke sur' grabs his ribs in pain, collapses and crawls off stage. Susan Gutheill comes on and giggles for a few minutes (Sumi).

Bell, sign "4PM". Bell, sign "7PM Cross Culture".
Vicki in cheerleader outfit: "Okay gang, we really wanna get out there for Fiji. Everyone is depending on us. Are you with us? 2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, a dollar, all for Cross Culture stand up and holler" Everyone goes wild and runs off the stage.

Terry and I come out. There are a few long exchanges of meaningless big words and finally Terry says "Will I see you tomorrow?"
Me: "Tomorrow, will there be a tomorrow?" and we exit.
David who has been standing in the corner, facing it, all of the play comes out and says as he wanders off the stage: "Nobody ever talks to me.".
